Silent Auction Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
This silent auction is organised by The Dartington Recreation Associations, a registered charity in England and Wales, registration number 1168817 ("the Charity").
By participating in this auction, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2. Auction Items and Bidding
All items are offered as described on the website.
Bids must be placed via the website.
The highest bid received for each item at the close of the auction will be deemed the winning bid, subject to any reserve price.
Some items may have a reserve price. If the reserve price is not met, the item will not be sold.
The Charity reserves the right to withdraw any item from the auction at any time.
Bids cannot be retracted once placed.
The charity has the right to refuse any bid.
All bidders must be 18 or over.
3. Reserve Prices
Reserve prices have been placed as to not devalue creative works.
If the highest bid does not meet the reserve price, the item will not be sold.
4. Winning Bids and Notification
Winners will be notified by email to the email address provided Sunday, 6th March 2025.
The notification email will include instructions for payment.
5. Payment
Payment must be made by bank transfer to the account details provided in the notification email.
The payment reference must be the one provided in the email.
Payment must be made within 14 days of the notification email, or the Charity reserves the right to offer the item to the next highest bidder.
6. Collection of Items
Upon confirmation of payment, the Charity will provide the winner with the contact details of the donor or volunteer responsible for the item.
The winner is responsible for arranging and covering the costs of collecting the item from the designated location.
The Charity is not responsible for any loss or damage to items during collection or transit.
Proof of age maybe required for some items.
7. Data Protection (GDPR)
By participating in this auction, you agree to the Charity processing your personal data for the purposes of administering the auction, contacting you regarding your bid, and arranging payment and collection of items.
We will only share your data with the donor or volunteer so that the item may be collected.
8. Liability
The Charity accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from participation in this auction, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law.
All items are offered "as is," and the Charity makes no warranties or representations regarding their condition or suitability.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
