A number of the window catches and casement stays have broken or pulled out of the timber altogether. Where a stay has gone, the window can't be held open safely on a warm day; where a catch has gone, it can't be fastened properly shut.
What's involved
- Work out how many windows are affected and which pattern of catch and stay they take
- Order matching replacements
- Fit them, making good the screw holes where the old ones have pulled out
The frames themselves are sound - this is fittings rather than joinery.
Cost to be confirmed.
